Lotus Emira GT4 Dream Global Debut

The recently unveiled Lotus Emira GT4 made a remarkably triumphant global racing debut during the Greater Bay GT Cup GT4 event at Macau’s Guia circuit last weekend. Toro Racing entered two cars, both adorned in a modern interpretation of Lotus’ iconic black and gold livery, honoring the brand’s illustrious 75-year history in motorsport. Rising Chinese GT star Lou Kailou and Adam Christodoulou each piloted one car, contributing to an exceptionally successful first outing for the new Emira, marking a dream debut weekend for the duo.
Securing the entire front row of the grid, they took an early lead and maintained absolute dominance until the race was halted prematurely due to an on-track incident. Following the race organizers’ decision to finalize positions based on the standings before the stoppage, Luo Kailuo and Adam Christodoulou claimed first and second place in the GT4 class. Their fastest lap times were recorded at 2:31.392 and 2:31.724 respectively.
Unveiled in 2022, the Lotus Emira GT4 boasts a Lotus-tuned 3.5-liter Toyota V6 engine coupled with Motec engine management and a Harrop TVS 1900 supercharger. Its performance is enhanced by a Hewland six-speed sequential transmission featuring paddleshift actuation and a limited-slip differential. The engine generates 455 bhp and 500Nm of torque before Balance of Performance (BoP) adjustments are made. Toro Racing’s parent group includes numerous Chinese Lotus dealers, part of a network comprising over 90 multi-brand dealerships across China. The team is currently exploring potential avenues for the cars’ future participation in competitions. One of these vehicles is showcased this weekend at a prominent Chinese motor show.
